frequently asked questions
-
We use a custom blend of soy wax and coconut wax - natural, sustainable, vegan and non-toxic. The coconut wax is neutral in scent. You can expect an even and long-lasting burn from our candles.
-
Unfortunately, no. Label guidelines in the USA allow any candle that is at least 51% soy to be labeled as a soy wax candle. This means there is potentially 49% that is paraffin, beeswax, palm wax, or coconut wax. There are many pre-blended waxes available to candle makers, and those manufacturers do not disclose their full formulas, other than stating what waxes are in the blend.

We use high-quality fragrance oils that are specifically made for candles (as well as soap, diffusers, and sprays). All of them contain essential oil components. In addition, all of our fragrances are free of phthalates and parabens, as well as a long list of other undesirable chemicals known to cause cancer and other health issues. We personally inspect the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) of every fragrance oil to ensure the highest quality before purchasing. Not all fragrance oils are the same, so this is key! While essential oils can be used in candle making (particularly using beeswax), we choose to create candles with fragrance and natural wax for optimal scent and burn. Essential oils are delicate and costly, and we recommend customers diffuse or otherwise enjoy their essential oils, and buy high quality, natural wax candles for burning.
-
Our candles are natural wax and fragrance oil only, and we use cotton wicks free of metal, zinc and lead.
-
One candle works great in bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms and typically sized living/work spaces. Larger rooms or spaces with high ceilings or open floor plans may need multiple candles for the best fragrance permeation. You can have multiple candles of the same scent, or mix and match them for your own unique blend.
-
Yes! Once there is about 1/4 inch of wax left, stop using the candle. Use caution and care when removing the remaining wax, wicks and any labeling. Our suggestion is to gently scrape out the wax and wicks/wick stickers with a rigid silicone utensil (we don’t recommend knives or other metal items) and discard all wax in the trash - never put wax down the drain or garbage disposal. Then place the container in hot soapy water to soften any residue and labels, and wash, rinse and dry. We do not recommend scraping labels off as this might damage the surface of the container. Containers may be put in dishwasher once all wax and label residue is gone. Note: we assume no liability for candle containers or subsequent results of reuse by the consumer, once purchased.

I purchased these as a gift after seeing them at the holiday fair in downtown Franklin, TN. The scent of these candles is beautiful and not too strong.

I purchased a pare candle last year in Franklin, TN, Tennessee Woodlands, and I absolutely love the scent. I get more compliments on the lovely smell of my condo when I have company. This year I ordered 4 of them. One for me and 1 for each of my favorite girls…daughter and two daughters-in-law.
